The Mi-ki's Ancestry
How the Mi-Ki originated is filled with lots of controversy; even though, its history has been discussed, analyzed, and scrutinized; there are still many opinions, myths and theories as to how this extraordinary breed was developed.
The majority of Mi-ki's originated from one breeder. Politics is what has compelled some breeders to form different clubs and others to remain independent.
The quality of any dog is set by the quality and ethics of the breeder. My suggestions for finding a quality breeder are as follows:
1. Visit your breeder's home if it is at all possible. You need to see both parents of the pup you are thinking about adopting.
2. The breeder should only speak of the quality of their dogs and not slander other breeders in any way.
3. Your deposit should be refundable.
4. You should receive a health guarantee of at least 2-years.
5. You should "like" the breeder. If you don't like the breeder, you will be hesitant to call with questions. You should be able to call with questions about your Mi-ki as often as necessary.
We do know that the originator did in fact discover a breed with a remarkable disposition, that possess a true loving nature and sweet expression.
